The events management industry in Saudi Arabia is projected to grow from $2.38 billion in 2024 to $3.45 billion by 2029. According to a recent report by Mordor Intelligence, the Kingdom is becoming a dynamic center for high-profile events, hosting large-scale gatherings such as MDL Beast, LEAP, Riyadh Season, the Red Sea Film Festival, and Formula 1. Future international events like Expo 2030 and the World Cup 2034, along with various celebrations, festivals, product launches, conferences, and private functions, further underscore its vibrant event landscape.
The GCC region is emerging as a significant growth area for the global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry, with developments that are likely to redefine the sector in the years ahead.
Cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam are becoming prominent MICE destinations, boasting top-notch facilities. This surge is attributed to several factors, including the Saudi government’s ‘open doors’ policy, substantial investments in hospitality and travel infrastructure, and the integration of technology with live events, enhancing reach and engagement.
Moreover, Riyadh is set to host the Saudi Event Show 2024, bringing together over 4,500 professionals from events, entertainment, and MICE industries for networking and collaboration over two days. Scheduled for September 11 and 12 at the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Hotel, the event will showcase the latest offerings, technologies, and services in the MICE sector, featuring participation from more than 100 exhibitors, including renowned industry leaders from over 30 nations.
A key highlight of SES 2024 will be the 30+ immersive free seminars, which are crucial for the industry, featuring 60 leading global and regional experts and thought leaders.
