IHG Hotels and Resorts has recently signed a management agreement with Refad Real Estate Investment and Development Company to launch the Hotel Indigo in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province by September 2027. With the support of the Tourism Development Fund (TDF), Hotel Indigo in Al Khobar will focus on sustainable tourism and hospitality activities.

Nestled in the vibrant Khobar Corniche area, Hotel Indigo and Residences Al Khobar will serve as an iconic landmark, offering over 200 rooms and hotel apartments.

As one of IHG’s lifestyle brands, Hotel Indigo properties offer a gateway to some of the world’s most inspiring locations. They overlook some of the most inspiring locations around the world and each one draws inspiration from its surrounding landscape and local culture to shape its design and experience.

Saudi Arabia’s strategic importance

Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) at IHG Hotels & Resorts, commented: “Al Khobar boasts a vibrant tapestry of economic vitality, cultural richness and scenic beauty, and offers a serene retreat for leisure seekers.”

With Saudi Arabia’s 2030 visitor target increasing from 100 million to 150 million, there is a need to bring in lifestyle hotels like Hotel Indigo to the country, Mattar explained. Hence, this will strengthen Saudi Arabia’s hospitality sector in line with the goals of Vision 2030

“This strategic addition not only fuels our growth in KSA but also reaffirms our commitment to providing exceptional hospitality experiences in key markets,” Mattar added.
