In the category of airports with more than 15 million passengers annually, King Abdulaziz International Airport secured the top spot with a 91 percent compliance rate. King Khalid International Airport closely followed with an 82 percent compliance rate.

International airports

For international airports serving 5 to 15 million passengers annually, King Fahd International Airport and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport tied for first place with a 91 percent compliance rate. However, King Fahd International Airport performed better in terms of average wait time at check-in and other essential metrics.

In the 2 to 5 million annual-passenger category, Abha International Airport and King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport achieved a 100 percent compliance rate. However, Abha International Airport surpassed King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in the specified evaluation criteria, especially in areas such as average waiting time at security control and passport control.

In the category of airports with less than 2 million passengers annually, Al-Ahsa International Airport achieved a 100 percent compliance rate, outperforming its competitors in terms of average wait times at passport control for both departures and arrivals.

Domestic airports

Among domestic airports, Arar Airport came in first place with a 100 percent compliance rate. It outperformed all other airports in terms of average waiting time for departing and arriving flights.

GACA evaluates airport performance based on critical passenger touchpoints such as check-in, security, passport control, customs, baggage claim, and assistance for passengers with reduced mobility. These metrics align with international best practices to ensure a seamless and efficient travel experience for all passengers.
