NEOM, the ambitious giga-project in northwest Saudi Arabia, has announced the development of a new premier coastal region called Magna. Situated along the stunning Gulf of Aqaba, Magna is part of NEOM’s sustainable tourism initiative.

Destinations within Magna

Magna will feature 12 distinct destinations: Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana, Aquellum, Zardun, Xaynor, Elanan, Gidori, Treyam, and Jaumur. Spanning 120 kilometers, these destinations will redefine luxury sustainable tourism on a global scale.

Reflecting the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, Magna will prioritize cutting-edge technology, world-class architecture, and ultra-modern amenities, all seamlessly integrated with the natural environment.

Sustainability and technology in Magna

Moreover, each destination will offer unique experiences for residents and guests, united by a commitment to conserving and rejuvenating the native flora, fauna, and breathtaking landscapes.

Economic impact and growth projections

Magna’s development will also include 15 luxury hotels, 1,600 hotel rooms and suites, over 2,500 premium residences, and is expected to generate 15,000 jobs in the tourism, leisure, and hospitality sectors. By 2030, Magna is further anticipated to contribute SAR2.6 billion ($693.2 million) to the Kingdom’s GDP, house 14,500 residents, and attract over 300,000 overnight visitors annually.

Treasure of tomorrow

According to Nadhmi Al-Nasr, chief executive officer, NEOM, the premier coastal region of Magna within NEOM is described as a “treasure of tomorrow” that is rich in natural beauty and advanced technology. He further stated that Magna aligns with NEOM’s three pillars of redefining business, conservation, and livability, and will play a key role in building a strong tourism ecosystem within NEOM. Additionally, Al-Nasr mentioned that Magna will contribute positively to the national economic diversification efforts and to the broader Saudi Vision 2030 goals, helping to position the Kingdom as a global leader in luxury tourism.

Investment opportunities

Additionally, this innovative project presents a unique opportunity for investors and developers to engage in one of the world’s most ambitious sustainable tourism initiatives, with sustainability integrated at every stage from design to construction and long-term maintenance.

Magna is NEOM’s latest addition, following the announcements of Sindalah, THE LINE, Trojena, and Oxagon as part of the broader giga-project development.
