Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, presided over the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Air Connectivity Program (ACP) and Virgin Atlantic Airlines at the Ministry of Tourism’s headquarters.
This agreement aims to improve air connectivity between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom by introducing a direct flight route from Riyadh to London, SPA reported.
The new service will further provide access to multiple cities within the Kingdom, featuring daily flights between London Heathrow Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Set to commence next March, the flights will be operated using Airbus A330 aircraft.

Moreover, Virgin Atlantic’s entrance into the Saudi market represents the tenth airline partnership formed with the ACP this year, highlighting ongoing initiatives to enhance air connectivity in the Kingdom.
Additionally, the Air Connectivity Program is a vital element of Saudi Arabia’s National Tourism Strategy and National Aviation Strategy. It seeks to promote tourism growth by developing and expanding air routes connecting Saudi Arabia with international destinations.
Furthermore, the ACP encourages cooperation between public and private sector stakeholders in the tourism and aviation sectors, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s status as a leading global tourist destination for air travel.
