Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef inaugurated the strategy for advancing human capabilities in the industrial and mining sectors. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the minister also announced the establishment of the National Academy of Industry during the Human Capabilities Initiative 2024 conference.

The strategy primarly aims is to attract, nurture, and empower talented individuals and leaders. It aims to cultivate an appealing work culture and a supportive environment, elevate levels of productivity and innovation, and bolster the private sector by developing human capabilities.
Additionally, this strategy aligns with the National Strategy for Industry and Vision 2030, contributing to the identification of crucial skills in the industrial and mining sectors, attracting top talent, enhancing workforce productivity, ensuring its longevity, and realizing the strategy’s vision of preserving the workforce across all industrial and mining sectors through the implementation of over 40 initiatives.
Furthermore, it serves as a comprehensive roadmap for studying and analyzing the supply and demand dynamics, providing a clear overview of the gaps and challenges in developing human resources within these two sectors.
Offering direct training programs for professionals and graduates
The National Academy of Industry aims to deliver direct training programs for both experienced professionals and recent graduates. It will support existing training institutes, offer incentives, facilitate partnerships, and provide cutting-edge programs focused on the latest technologies in the industrial sector.
Moreover, the academy plays a crucial role in the achievement of the Human Capabilities Development Program’s objectives by supporting and empowering local and international training organizations and directly providing training programs to the target groups.
Additionally, the academy acts as a facilitator, bringing together training providers, the private sector, and regulatory bodies. It also works towards aligning its efforts and strategies to enhance the skills of the industrial workforce.
The academy will also address various challenges and gaps by actively coordinating and advancing efforts in the development of industrial human capital. Through collaboration with different training providers, it will offer 18 programs to address these needs.
