The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has formally submitted its bid to FIFA to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup™ at a ceremony in Paris, France. The bid was presented by an official delegation led by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, minister of Sport and president of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, as well as Yasser Al-Misehal, president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF). The delegation also included two young talents from the regional training centers affiliated with SAFF.

This bid submission marks a significant milestone, made possible through the empowerment and unwavering support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Additionally, the bid reflects the Kingdom’s continuous efforts to achieve the sports objectives outlined in Vision 2030 and the aspirations of the Saudi people.

Inclusion of young talents

The inclusion of the two young talents in the official delegation is an initiative led by SAFF, which aligns with the projected growth of Saudi football over the next decade. Moreover, this move reflects the ambitions and passions of the Saudi people to host an exceptional edition of the FIFA World Cup™.

Furthermore, the submission of the bid book to FIFA signifies the third stage in the official bid process to secure the hosting rights for the 2034 tournament. Saudi Arabia, through SAFF, announced its intention to bid for the 2034 FIFA World Cup™ on October 4, 2023, as the sole nation in the race to host this edition of the global sporting event. This was followed by the official bid campaign reveal. The current submission of the bid book underscores the Kingdom’s commitment and determination to host the event. The next stages will further involve official visits by FIFA and a comprehensive evaluation of the bid, leading to the selection of the host nation for the 2034 FIFA World Cup™ on December 11, 2024.
