Riyadh Municipality has entered into five contracts valued at SAR6 billion ($1.6 billion) aimed at enhancing road quality throughout the capital. This initiative aligns with the municipality‘s strategic objectives to boost mobility and drive a vibrant Riyadh that adheres to the highest standards of efficiency and sustainability. The contracts focus on rehabilitating and paving the road network across an area of 83 million square meters over the next five years. These enhancements are designed to further elevate road quality, ensure safe travel, and align the city’s infrastructure with international benchmarks.

Strategic zoning for prioritization

To facilitate effective prioritization, the municipality has segmented the city into five zones: north, south, east, west, and central. Moreover, this zoning approach allows for precise evaluations of road conditions and the identification of critical areas requiring improvement, SPA reported.
