Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Air has awarded an SAR1.5 billion ($400 million) ground handling contract to the Saudi Ground Services Company.
In a recent announcement on the Saudi stock exchange, the airline revealed that the Saudi Ground Services Company will provide ground handling services for all Riyadh Air flights. This includes ramp services and passenger terminal services for both domestic and international flights at King Khalid International Airport – Riyadh.
Riyadh Air’s ground handling contract will commence on September 1 this year and will have a duration of 4.5 years. The company also has the option to extend the contract’s duration for an additional two years after the term is complete.
The deal’s value will reach around SAR1.5 billion for the entire duration of 6.5 years, the airline added.
“The Saudi Ground Services Company will provide ground handling services for all Riyadh Air domestic and international flights at King Khalid International Airport -Riyadh, which includes ramp and passenger terminals services,” the announcement added.
As Riyadh Air gears up to launch commercial operations in mid-2025 at the King Khalid International Airport, it has expanded its partnerships across the aviation sector to connect Saudi Arabia to one hundred regional and international destinations by 2030.

The airline has recently announced several agreements with key international players, including Boeing, to adopt an array of advanced digital solutions. Riyadh Air also inked a five-year agreement with GE Aerospace to drive its digital airline vision. Besides, the airline also signed a deal with Delta to expand connectivity and premium travel options across North America, Saudi Arabia, and beyond.
