Saudi Arabia’s aviation landscape witnessed a standout performance in November, with King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) outshining its counterparts based on the latest General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) monthly report.
GACA evaluates airport performance based on 11Â standards encompassing the entire passenger experience. These standards cover crucial aspects such as check-in procedures, security measures, and passport and customs control efficiency. Moreover, it measures services for individuals with limited mobility and addresses delays. Here is an overview of the airports’ performance:
Saudi Arabia’s airports
King Abdulaziz International Airport
GACA’s report revealed that Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport achieved a compliance rate of 91 percent among international airports serving over 15 million passengers annually.
King Khalid International Airport
Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport demonstrated significant progress, with its compliance rate soaring from 64 percent in October to an impressive 82 percent in November. In addition, the performance showcased the airport’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency.
King Fahd International Airport
In the category of airports serving between 5 million and 15 million passengers annually, Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport maintained its top position. It achieved a 91 percent compliance rate in November, underlining its consistent commitment to operational excellence.
Abha International Airport
Abha International Airport secured the lead in the third category for international terminals catering to 2 million to 5 million passengers annually. Hence, it achieved a notable 91 percent compliance rate, affirming its dedication to providing a seamless travel experience.
Al-Ahsa Airport
In the fourth category, dedicated to international airports receiving less than 2 million passengers annually, Al-Ahsa Airport maintained a perfect compliance rate of 100 percent in November for the fifth consecutive month. It solidified its position as a paragon of operational efficiency.
Gurayat Airport
Gurayat Airport emerged as the leader in the fifth category, dedicated to domestic terminals, boasting a flawless 100 percent compliance rate since July. Notably, Gurayat Airport surpassed its competitors with exceptional average wait times for departure and arrival flights.
