Saudi has announced plans to implement 11 major infrastructure development projects worth more than 4.3 billion riyals ($1.15 billion) covering key cities in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province.Â
The contracts comprise more than 316 km of routes, in addition to the construction of operational reservoirs with a capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters. Of these majority are aimed at boosting water services.
The duration of the implementation of these contracts ranges from 18-30 months, said Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Abdulrahman Al Fadhli.
Moreover, the company noted that there are three additional water and environmental projects under bidding at a combined cost of 1.20 billion riyals.
For its part, Al-Khorayef Water Technology and Energy approved the implementation of four projects awarded by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture to upgrade water networks in the Eastern Province.
Two of the projects will be implemented in Khobar and Qatif over 30 months at a cost of 499.36 million riyals and 258.75 million riyals, respectively.
Meanwhile, the two other developments will be carried out in Dammam at a value of 504.85 million riyals and 592.25 million riyals with a duration period of 24 and 30 months, respectively.
Contracts will have a duration period of 24 and 30 months, respectively.
