According to reports, the transfer of Brazilian footballer Neymar da Silva to Saudi’s Al Hilal is on the the verge of being completed after his departure from the French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Reports suggested Neymar has made the decision to accept the offer from Saudi club Al Hilal, despite his previous attempts to secure a transfer to the Spanish club Barcelona.
As reported by French newspaper L’Equipe, the announcement of the deal is expected within a few hours. Neymar has initiated the necessary procedures to join the Saudi’s Al Hilal, following the agreement on personal terms for the contract. PSG will receive a transfer fee of 90 million euros as part of the arrangement.

Neymar is set to ink a two-season contract with Al Hilal, which includes a clause for a potential renewal of a third season subject to mutual agreement. Recent reports have unveiled Neymar’s decision to join the Saudi League through Al Hilal, following a lucrative offer of 160 million euros ($174.9 million) from the club. As part of the deal, the Brazilian international superstar will earn an annual salary of 80 million euros ($87.4 million).
Furthermore, Neymar (31) made in the summer of 2017 a significant move from Barcelona, one of the Spanish giants, to PSG. The transfer, valued at a staggering 222 million euros ($242.6 million), set a new record as the most expensive deal in football history.
Saudi raising the bar
Saudi League clubs have recently managed to secure the services of several international stars. Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante have joined the league, while Al-Hilal has signed Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly. Additionally, Al-Ahli welcomed Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy back to the Roshen League, and Victory Lineup has been strengthened with the signing of Croatian player Marcelo Brozovic.
On August 1, veteran manager Jose Mourinho joined the board of directors of Saudi Arabia’s Mahd Sports Academy. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman himself approved the move.
