Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Crown Prince received in Riyadh Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

They reviewed Saudi Arabia’s file to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia launched in October 2021 its bid to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia’s proposed theme for the Expo should the Kingdom’s bid prove successful is “The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow.”

Additionally, Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser met Dimitri Kerkentzes, at his office in Riyadh.

During the meeting, Al-Jasser emphasized Saudi Arabia’s readiness in the field of transport and logistics to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh.

They also reviewed current and future initiatives and projects for the kingdom in accordance with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia first applied to organize the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh in October 2021 in a letter presented to BIE from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that was handed at the time to Kerkentzes by al-Rasheed.

The Kingdom is competing with three other countries –  the Republic of Korea, Italy, and Ukraine – for the spot.

As much as 76.5 percent of private companies in the UAE registered growth in their businesses during Expo 2020.

The event, which cost about $7 billion to host, was able to garner international investment agreements worth billions of dollars, and many memoranda of understanding were signed.

Millions of visitors flocked to the Expo – bringing their numbers to more than 23 million despite the pandemic, a number not far from earlier expectations of 25 million visitors.
