Luxury airline Beond will make its maiden flight from Malé to Riyadh in November. In preparation for this, the company recently welcomed the delivery of its inaugural aircraft at the Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).
The airline is known for its all-business class seating. The specific aircraft delivered is an Airbus A319 configured with 44 all-flat seats.
While the airline is based in Dubai, its first hub is located in the Maldives.
Connecting Middle East and Maldives
In November, Beond will initiate a twice-weekly service connecting Malé and Riyadh. Airfares start at $1,904.
Meanwhile, services between Malé and Dubai will officially commence in March next year. Shortly after, a route to Milan, Italy will follow suit. In the same month, the airline will also introduce routes to Munich, Germany, and Zurich, Switzerland. These services will come complete with a refueling stopover at the DWC.
Beon, with a diverse fleet composed of Airbus A320-family aircraft, will carry travelers from the Maldives from Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. Later this year and early 2024, it is set to add more Airbus aircraft to its fleet.
Back in August, Beond announced that its seed funding round was able to raise $17 million. As part of its expansion plans, the airline eyes to have a presence across 25 countries, serving more than 50 destinations.
Within the next five years, it aims to have a fleet of 30 aircraft.

Emirates’ recent developments
Beond is just one of the airlines headquartered in Dubai. The bustling city is also home to Emirates. One of the two flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates, the airline is also poised for substantial development.
In a recent update on the London Stock Exchange, Doric Nimrod Air Two shared that it is selling two aircraft to the airline before the year ends. The company owns seven Airbus A380s that Emirates leases
The sale is expected to take place on October 14 and December 2, respectively, coinciding with the 12th anniversary of each aircraft’s initial delivery to Emirates. Each Airbus A380 could fetch around $35 million.
Moreover, Emirates has dedicated around $8.7 million to provide its crew members with Apple devices. This is part of its “One Device’ program,” which aims to improve passengers’ and crew’s in-flight experiences and services.
Presently, more than 7,000 Emirates crew members have iPhones. This enables them to cater to passengers on 450 daily flights across the airline’s extensive global network.
